About Gong Liu

Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Gong Liu. I work as a Principal Software Engineer for Pharos. I develop Pharos location-based services and applications using Microsoft .Net Technologies. I am a Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD). I have more than 20 years of experience in computer programming and software development.

I received my Ph.D. degree from the University of Calgary in 1995, and my M.S. and B.S. degrees from Beijing Jiaotong University in 1985 and 1982.

This blog discusses mainly computer programming topics such as C#, APS.Net, SQL Server, Windows Programming, Web Programming, AJAX, Virtual Earth, Google Maps, e-Commerce, etc., as well as any other topics that may be interesting to me, tofu culture, fitness, technology, politics...

About my writing style:

  • I'll try to write only original articles, instead of simply repeating others' work.
  • I'll try to write only nontrivial articles - articles with sufficient length that describe relatively complex processes, concepts or ideas.
  • I'll only write things I have experienced first-hand, especially problems/solutions from my past or current projects.
  • I'll try to make my point using lots of examples, live demos, and multimedia illustrations.

Please feel free to browse around my blog site and leave your comments if you like. I'm always interested in feedback.
